Updated Update available KB4345215 (Build 17713.1002) for Windows 10 Redstone 5

Windows 10 Insider Preview build 17713 – assembly of Redstone 5, which is available for Windows Insider program participants with the priority of getting updates. Early Access.

This assembly belongs to the development branch RS5_RELEASE of the next major update Windows 10, which is expected in the fall (September-October) 2018 and can be called October 2018 Update.

Reset Skip Ahead

The Microsoft team is approaching the final stage of the Redstone 5 development cycle, when the main developer forces will be cast to fix known errors and improve the stability of the new version. As part of this “stabilization” process, the Redstone 5 version will receive its own branch called “RS5_RELEASE”. Likewise, Microsoft did the same with the previous updates to Redstone 3 and Redstone 4.

Thus, Redmond is ready to release test builds to users who have chosen the Skip Ahead content type in order to obtain the next version of Windows 10. However, this time Microsoft decided to do a full reset of “Skip Ahead”. This means that participants in the Windows Insider pre-evaluation program that previously activated the “Skip Ahead” option will automatically be transferred to the “Early Access” channel. The option to connect to Skip Ahead will no longer be available in Settings> Upgrade and Security> Windows Pre-Evaluation Program.

In the coming weeks, a statement will be made about the re-availability of the “Skip Ahead” option for insiders. If you previously selected the Skip Ahead content type, you will be forced to re-enable this option. The main goal of the Skip Ahead reset is to allow testers who did not have time to join Skip Ahead before finally connecting this type of content, as well as getting rid of some inactive devices.

The option “Skip Ahead” will be available for a limited period of time until the quota for the number of insiders is closed. After reaching the set limit, the option will be unavailable again. About the re-launch of “Skip Ahead” will be announced in the coming weeks, follow the news on our website.
